What is the Junior Theatre Auxiliary?
San Diego Junior Theatre Auxiliary (SDJTA) is a family of volunteers,
parents and friends of San Diego Junior Theatre students.
JTA helps Junior Theatre in many areas informing parents and friends
about upcoming shows and events, maintaining advocacy programs, organizing fund-raisers, public relations, production, set building and
costumes just to mention a few!
If you're an alumnus of any San Diego Junior Theatre production, you may
join the JTA's member organization, San Diego Junior Theatre Alumni Association
(JTAA). The Alumni Association also helps Junior Theatre with fund-raising, advocacy, and public relations. JTAA is currently forming
a network of alumni to be a resource for Junior Theatre, and creates events that will bring alumni together, while benefitting
San Diego Junior Theatre.
JTA operates from proceeds from the San Diego Junior Theatre Gift Shop (JTAGS), Holiday Nights,
opening night flower sales, "Stargrams" to cast members at all shows, Halloween costume sales, rummage sales, used book
sales, and membership dues.
Together, our family helps San Diego Junior Theatre continue to shape the future through the magic of theatre arts!

Another great way to help JT
The JT Used Book Sale is a wonderful way to help in a fun and easy way. Every Saturday
and Sunday (weather permitting) that there is a performance on the main stage, we set up our
tables and books on the side of the theatre or in front and sell books, videos, DVDs,
software, puzzles and more for anywhere from a quarter to a dollar.
Helping means light lifting of tables to set up and break down and putting the books out and
away afterwards. You get to talk to people from all over, enjoy some gorgeous weather,
sit in a lawn chair and eat your lunch whatever makes you happy. Everyone who
does it seems to walk away saying they had fun. And you just show up when you drop your
child(ren) off at call and break it all down after intermission so you can leave when
they’re done. Could it be any simpler?
And if you can’t help out with the actual sale, please remember we always need books
once we’re in the theatre. We are particularly always in need of children’s and
young adult books, considering our audiences. CD’s, tapes, videos, and software sell
really well too if you have things you’re not using or your family has outgrown.
Call the front office to see when Junior Theatre has an upcoming show to drop books off for.
